Sports Equipment donation
Conserve India, with support from Baazi Games Pvt. Ltd., implemented a targeted initiative to promote the Fit India Movement by using sports as a tool to enhance the physical and mental well-being of marginalized youth. Recognizing that children and adolescents in underserved communities often lack safe recreational spaces and equipment, the project aimed to bridge this gap by making sports accessible, inclusive, and community-owned.

Promoting Fit India in Underserved Communities
What We Did
Through the donation and strategic distribution of sports equipment within slum and low-income communities, the initiative provided young people with structured and unstructured opportunities to engage in physical activity. These efforts were rooted in the belief that sports can act as a powerful tool for:
- Improving physical health and building lifelong fitness habits
- Enhancing emotional resilience and providing stress relief
- Fostering teamwork, leadership, and discipline
- Offering positive outlets and reducing exposure to harmful environments
The equipment donated included basic but essential materials such as footballs, cricket kits, skipping ropes, and other recreational gear tailored to the needs and interests of the local youth.
Beyond distribution, the program emphasized community ownership of sports resources to ensure sustained access and shared responsibility. Youth leaders, parents, and local volunteers were engaged to monitor and maintain the equipment, fostering a sense of pride and shared custodianship. This inclusive model helped normalize play as a community-supported activity and positioned sports as a right—not a luxury—for all children.
Why It Matters
In communities where poverty, stress, and overcrowding are daily realities, access to physical activity is often overlooked. For children growing up in such environments, sports offer more than just physical exercise—they offer hope, structure, and a path to self-confidence. By introducing play into these spaces, this project contributes directly to the Fit India goals while reinforcing holistic child development and community well-being.
Conserve India remains committed to using sports and play as tools of empowerment—where every child, regardless of background, has the chance to run, play, grow, and thrive.
